Whether you are seeking services as an individual, a business or the public sector, at Samuel Phillips Law you know that your affairs will be handled in a pragmatic and professional approach from the very start.
Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) are extremely useful and important documents, but many do not even know what they are, let alone why they need them. We at Samuel Phillips are here to change that.
What is an LPA?
An LPA is a document which can be prepared appointing someone or some people (your attorneys) to deal with your affairs and make decisions on your behalf.
Why do I need LPAs?
Without valid LPAs in place, no person has the legal right to make decisions for you if you are not able to, not even your spouse or next of kin.
Why do I need two LPAs?
There are two types of LPA – one authorising your attorneys to make financial and property decisions on your behalf and one to make health and welfare decisions on your behalf. It is a good idea to have both in place so any and all decisions can be made for you if you are not able to.
What can a financial attorney do for me?
An attorney under a financial LPA may buy or sell property, access your bank accounts, pay your bills, deal with your pensions or other benefits you may receive, and much more.
What can a health attorney do for me?
An Attorney under a health LPA can put in place at home care plans for you, arrange for you to move to a care home and decide which one, consent or decline medical treatment, choose what activities you participate in, who you see, what you eat, and much more.
LPAs are vitally important and with this in mind we are offering reduced prices throughout April 2022 as part of our LPApril scheme! Our amended fees throughout LPApril are as follows:
|One LPA||£395.00||£250.00 + VAT and disbursements|
|Two LPAs||£645.00||£450.00 + VAT and disbursements|
|Four LPAs||£1,145.00||£850.00 + VAT and disbursements|
Keep an eye on our website and social media for more information about LPAs this month.
